We have awarded Mikeysline to run the Hive Project; a drop in centre for people struggling with their mental health in Inverness and the surrounding area. Mental health issues, resulting in self harm, and all too often, suicide, are at an extraordinary level in Inverness and the Highlands. Scotland has the highest rate of suicide under 40 in the UK per head of capita, and the Highlands has the highest rate in Scotland.
The drop in will be open from 6 – 10pm, Monday to Friday and 12 – 8pm, Saturday and Sunday. Every day there will be a triage nurse available (supplied by NHS Highland), a full time Hive employee, a Mikeysline volunteer and a volunteer from a partner organisation.
