This service aims to help older people or those living with disabilities to continue to live in the safety and comfort of their own homes. We provide advice and assistance in applying for local authority grants for housing repairs and improvements or adaptations.
The service is only for owner occupiers or those renting privately.
Based in our Inverness office, our Care & Repair service covers three areas:
- Caithness
- Inverness
- Nairn
- Badenoch & Strathspey
Some examples of works we have been involved with include:
- level access showers
- extensions
- roof repairs
- ground floor toilets
- renewing rotten flooring
- replacement windows and doors
- security adaptations for disabled children
- stair-lifts
- damp proofing
When we receive a referral, we will guide you through the whole process, from making an initial visit to explaining what we do and to discuss what work is required, through completion of grant applications, preparing tenders for the work and monitoring it when on site.
If you think we might be able to assist you, you can contact us directly. Alternatively, you can contact the Highland Council’s Grants department or your local Occupational Therapist to ask about a referral.
