We know that an effective and reliable repairs service is important to you. That’s why we work hard to make sure your home is kept in good repair.
Repairs in the north are carried out by our in-house repairs team, HomeWorks. Repairs in the south and central Scotland are carried out by our contractor, Rodgers & Johnston. We have an appointments system which means you may be offered a morning appointment (between 8am and 12noon), an afternoon appointment (between 12noon and 5pm) or an all-day appointment (between 8am and 5pm).

You should not log emergency repairs through My Cairn. All emergency repairs should be reported to us by phone and can be reported 24 hours a day. An emergency repair includes no water, total power failure, burst internal pipes or securing the lock on a main door. For a full list of all emergency repairs please look at your tenant’s handbook.
To help us identify the fault and to make sure we send the right people to your home to carry out the repair, please provide a full description of the repair you need.
We categorise each repair by how urgently the repair needs to be carried out. Our targets for each category are:
- emergency repairs carried out within our target of 24 hours, and
- non-emergency repairs carried out within our target of 20 days.
When you report the repair we will tell you which category your repair falls in, how long it should take and if it is covered by the ‘Right to Repair’ legislation. Your ‘Right to Repair’ means if a qualifying repair is not attended to within the agreed timescale, you have the right to appoint another contractor. You are also eligible for compensation for the inconvenience if the repair is not carried out.
We aim to provide you with accurate and up to date information about our investment plans and the improvements that you can expect to see across our all our neighbourhoods.
We will be delivering a huge £6 million pounds worth of investment this year. This investment will deliver some fantastic improvements to your homes which will bring them up to modern standards, improve energy efficiency and the safety and security of you and your family.
Over the course of the year this will mean:
- Over 400 new kitchens
- Over 450 new bathrooms
- Over 200 tenants will benefit from heating improvements
- Over 300 tenants will benefit from external decoration
- 4 courts will benefit from new platform lifts
We also have plans for window and door replacements, new roof finishes and external wall insulation.
