Salary:
The salary grading for this post is Grade 5 (£29,466 - £36,832) to be discussed at interview. (We are currently conducting a salary review therefore, this may be subject to change)
Work pattern:
34.5 hours per week
  • Fixed Term contract until 31st March 2021 (to be reviewed)
  • Office location: Edinburgh, Bellshill, Irvine or Inverness (or home working may be considered providing persons can easily access one of the above locations).
  • Full time 34.5 hours per week

We require a Temporary Health and Safety Officer to work with the Health and Safety Manager to provide H&S advice and support throughout the organisation and to further develop and implement our H&S management systems.  Experience of setting up new systems for risk assessment, auditing and safe systems of work in a collaborative and supportive manner and / or of fire risk assessment and experience of ISO 45001 (or OHSAS 18001) are likely to be advantageous.

You will be keen to work collaboratively with staff of all levels and develop good relationships throughout the organisation to identify and reduce risks.  You will appreciate the importance of developing a strong H&S culture as well as ensuring H&S compliance.

Due to the nature of the role there are a few things we require of you, you will need to hold a Full UK Driver’s licence with use of your own vehicle and will be willing and able to travel throughout Scotland (and periodically stay away from home) including at short notice.  You need to be Computer literate –use of Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel and internal systems are regularly required.

We currently follow all Covid-19 working practice guidance and as such, you may be required to work from home for some or all of the contract period.

A Basic Disclosure Scotland Scheme check is required.
