This year, we’re investing around £10 million to improve homes across the country. This includes both planned works, such as new kitchens, bathrooms, windows, and doors, as well as cyclical maintenance, like decorating communal areas and improving retirement courts.
We understand how important these improvements are, and we’d love to be able to upgrade all of our homes at once. The cost of materials and labour has increased significantly over the last five years, and we have to strike a balance between what’s affordable and what’s needed most.
We’re doing as much as we can with the budget available, prioritising homes and projects where the need is greatest or where work is required to meet energy efficiency standards.
Some of the work we have planned includes:
- Kitchens in certain homes across Inverness, Dingwall, Munlochy, Boat of Garten, Caithness, and Coatbridge
- Bathrooms at MacEwen Court, Condor Court, Lochbrae Court, and in various homes in Caithness and Irvine
- Windows and Doors at Aitkin Court, Dewar Court, Stafford Court, and in some homes across Caithness and Coatbridge
- Boiler Upgrades in Irvine
- Heating and Energy Efficiency upgrades in Aviemore, Coatbridge, Stuart Court, and across various homes to meet EESSH standards
- Roof and Gutter Replacements to certain homes in Caithness
- Fire Door Upgrades in our courts (locations to be confirmed)
- Alarm Replacements at Aitkin, Dewar, and Stafford Courts
- Decoration and Grounds Maintenance at various locations (to be confirmed)
- Specific improvements at Dewar Court, Aitkin Court, Pollok (Glasgow), and Achray Place (Coatbridge)
If your home is included in our plans for this year, we will be in touch with more information before work begins.
We know not every tenant will see work happening to their home this year, and we appreciate this may be frustrating. We’re committed to keeping all our homes safe, warm, and well maintained, and we’ll keep you updated on our progress throughout the year.
Please note that our plans may change if priorities shift or urgent issues arise, but we will always do our best to communicate clearly and keep you informed.
