A Cairn Housing Association tenant says she has found her ‘forever home’ after moving into a new development in East Whitburn.
After several years of housing uncertainty and a number of moves as her circumstances changed, Louise has now settled into a two-bedroom home at our new Hens Nest Road development, where she says she finally feels at home.
The development comprises 19 high-quality homes for social rent, including a mix of amenity bungalows, terraced houses and semi-detached homes. Built by Ogilvie Homes, all of the properties feature energy-efficient air source heat pumps, fire suppression systems and spacious gardens, providing modern, comfortable homes for local people.
Having previously lived in a one-bedroom Cairn property, Louise needed a larger home to support her caring responsibilities. She said moving to Hens Nest Road has made a huge difference.
Louise said:
“I absolutely love it. I’m super, super happy with it and for me, the house is perfect.
“The development is beautiful and I love the area. It’s away from the main road but still close to the shops, cafés and lovely walks. After everything over the last few years, this really feels like my forever home.”
Audrey Simpson, Chief Executive, said:
“Everyone deserves a place they can truly call home, and it’s wonderful to hear what this move has meant for Louise.
“Hens Nest Road provides high-quality, energy-efficient homes that will benefit local people for many years to come. We’re delighted to welcome our new tenants and wish them every happiness in their new homes.”
Hens Nest Road is Cairn’s first development delivered in partnership with Ogilvie Homes. The project was supported through funding administered by the Scottish Government with a Charitable Bond from Allia.
The development forms part of our ongoing commitment to increasing the supply of high-quality, affordable homes across Scotland, helping more people access homes that meet their needs now and into the future.
