Increased cleaning at sheltered and retirement courts
To try and keep you safe, we are aiming to increase the amount of cleaning that is carried out in our courts. Cleaners will be focusing on frequently used touch points such as door handles, bannisters and lifts.
Staff costs, such as cleaners, are paid for through service charges, so this may see a small increase in service charges next year (2021/22). We will keep these costs as low as we possibly can.
To help keep our cleaners (and you) safe, please don’t leave your flat while the cleaners are in your corridor. Times of the increased cleaning service are still being worked out but we aim to let you know what they are as soon as possible.
Please note that in response to tenant feedback a further update was provided on court cleaning on 14th April where we confirmed that Cairn would meet all additional costs for court cleaning for a three month period until June 2020 when this will be reviewed.
Court staffing
At the time of writing we are reviewing other services and roles for court-based Cairn staff, to ensure essential services continue to be delivered whilst safeguarding the health and safety of our staff and tenants. We aim to keep tenants updated as the situation changes. We are posting regular updates to our blog at www.cairnha.com and our Facebook and Twitter pages.
Updated guidance
Following the UK Government’s announcement on Monday 23rd March, tighter enforcement is now in place.
The public are only allowed to leave their homes to:
- Buy food or medication, and to do this as little as possible
- Exercise alone once a day
- Travel to work, but only if it is essential
A ban on gatherings of more than two people has been put in place, and non-essential shops are to close, along with playgrounds and libraries.
When you have to leave your home to buy food or exercise, please remember to practice social distancing. Currently guidelines recommend standing 2 metres (around 6 feet) apart. Remember to wash your hands thoroughly once you get home.
Stay safe.
